The Uzbekistan Restaurant is one of the oldest in Moscow. Luxurious interiors of the restaurant remind of an Oriental palace. The walls are decorated with hand-made ornaments, the hall is adorned with old vases, mahogany floors, soft sofas and carpets. In the Uzbekistan Restaurant there is a main hall, four VIP rooms draped with silk, two banquet halls, two balconies, and summer veranda, which is a cozy atrium. The Ali-Baba Banquet Hall intended for 15 persons is designed as a marquee.
The Uzbekistan Restaurant shares the building with another restaurant offering Oriental cuisine. It is called the White Sun of a Desert, and its' interiors remind of the famous Russian movie. At the entrance the guests are greeted by Petrukha in greatcoat, and in the restaurant one can see the movie characters, such as Abdulla, Vereshchagin, Soukhov, and an old man with dynamite. They entertain the dear guests. The white walls of bar are decorated with brickwork, hand-made carpets, and antiquarian weapons. The main hall is divided into several parts, including chaikhana with semicircular sofas, Vereshchagin's corner with chintz curtains, and deck of a long boat with cozy tables. Some objects used in the restaurant's interior decoration are original scenery of the movie "White Sun of a Desert".
The menu of both restaurants includes traditional dishes of Uzbek cuisine: pilaw, shashlik on live coals, various salads and appetizers, Uzbek soups, "lagman", which is a dish made of Uzbek noodles, mutton and spices, and so forth. Delicious desserts, such as fruits, jams and sweets are prepared in the restaurant's confectionary. The carte of wines includes Crimean, French and Chili wines. Those who prefer non-alcohol drinks are welcome to order cocktails, fresh juices, various sorts of tea and coffee. Hookahs and cigars are at disposal of smokers.
The luxurious and exotic atmosphere of the restaurant is emphasized by Oriental music. Each evening beautiful belly dancers present their mastery to the public. Monday is the day when game-cocks' fights take place in the Uzbekistan Restaurant. The visitors are welcome to gamble, and the winners are given prizes and presents.
